5 day challenge – DAY 2 of Beans and Rice

Well, I seem to have lost half my butt yesterday.

That should twig something with me…knowing that for me, sugar is the enemy and what keeps me warm at night….so just being off it completely for one day and letting my body clean it out has an instant effect.  Ok, so not HALF my butt but enough that I had to keep on tugging at my jeans today….

I stopped on Henderson Hwy to get some gas and then drove to my son’s school.

As luck would have it, while I was waiting, a fellow Riverwood Mom walked by and knocked on my car window pointing towards the back…..

She motioned to my gas tank and I could see that I left the cover open.  She asked “did you mean to do that?”

When I got out to close it, she had already taken THE GAS TANK COVER off of my trunk and was screwing it back in for me.  Yup.  I had left the COVER – the little turny thing – on my trunk.  Somehow over icy / bumpy roads it managed to stay there for the 8 or so blocks I travelled.

…as body functions slow, it appears as though it’s diverting the stuff that runs brain cells for me…


So, sugar is one thing I need to pay some more attention to as I get through this….one more area where I need a change of thinking…

Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.

Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.

Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.

Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.

….. God brings the best out of you….
