I’m fighting a new battle this week – I’m just about done mentally with the whole reno thing and have to fight very hard to stay positive and not let any stress creep in to ruin my day or my interactions with family….
We are starting week #6, and while everything is still FINE…..I’m just not feeling the same positive spirit over the whole thing, y’know….?
This is what we woke up to last week ( the view from my ‘front window’):

So much snow the construction guys missed a day and half of work last week because the municipality was not going to bother clearing the roads since it was all going to melt anyways…
Then, this week, the melting is going on, and so, we have a driveway that looks something like this:

When I step in it, it looks more like this:

My front yard looks like this:

And my basement looks like this:

It makes it really hard to wear these:

But each and every morning I take a few minutes to connect with My Source and I remember this:
In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)
That means I have to ask myself: “how would I act if I were completely confident that God was with us?” The reality is none of us have control over our situations. However, we do have control over how we respond.
And with that, I resolve to begin every day with smiles and hugs for my family, with a cheerful heart, a happy face and an attitude that demonstrates my belief in something more than I can see with my eyes or feel in my heart.
I know that I know, and that’s enough for me.
I’m thankful for friends and family who have had us over for meals; given us ‘real homecooked food’ to take home; let us use their laundry facilities and their BATHTUBS…!!! aaaahh…the simple pleasure of a hot bath..!!! You have all been so good to us and we appreciate it and LOVE YOU!
